If you haven’t heard the news: The Mountain State Senior Olympics is returning!!!!
Formerly the Mineral County Senior Olympics, this event is organized by Aging & Family Services of Mineral County and held on the campus of Potomac State College. The 19th Annual Mountain State Senior Olympics will take place June 7-9, 2023. It is open to all citizens aged 55 or older; residents from any county or state may participate! Each registrant must complete and registration form; the registration cost is $40. The fee is due when the form is turned in.
This year the competitions include corn hole toss, football throw, softball throw, bocce roll, disc golf, 20-yard dash, ladder ball, bowling, lacrosse, basketball, bean bag toss, horseshoes, golf putting, and soccer kicking. If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact the Aging & Family Services office at 304-788-5467. Volunteers are the backbone of the Senior Olympics. We could not exist without the dedication of dozens of area citizens that help each year. The time, energy, and enthusiasm of volunteers fuel our movement and make our athlete’s dreams a reality.
